We organize social, cultural and literary events of the Malayalee Hindu community, thus providing an opportunity to celebrate our cultural heritage through lectures, songs, dances, crafts and cuisine. We promote Hindu values & philosophy, Malayalam language and literature, musical, educational, cultural events and festivals of Malayalees.

VISHU 2018 Event was celebrated on April 29th 2018 

 VISHU celebrated on Sunday, April 29th 2018 Noon Michael Power/St. Joseph Catholic Secondary School, 105 Eringate Drive, Etobicoke, ON. M9C 3Z7  .  

OHM Kicks off VISHU 2018 program practices with blessings from Guruvayurappan – January 2018.

While behind the scene preparations were already in progress for a few months, the official practice session kicked off for kids’ items with blessings from Lord Guruvayurappan.  The group gathered on a Sunday afternoon at Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton. OHM Kids started with a prayer in front of the Sreekovil. Observing Gurukul sampradaya, they further sought blessings from our Chief Priest Bramasree Sh. Divakaran Namboothiri and OHM founding member and Patron Sh. Unni Oppath.  







GTB moved Chara Pratishta to new building and Sudarshana Chakra Homam -  November 24 to 26, 2017

What a great weekend for the OHM families to attend and volunteer at the temple relocation event held on the weekend.  All were excited about the new temple building and rituals and ceremonies held on the weekend. While participating in poojas and bhajans, OHM youth and kids were busy volunteering with various duties (food packaging, distribution, cleanup etc).


Njana Yagnam  - A Dharma Camp for youth and Children with Chinmaya Mission  - November 5, 2017.

Energetic youth and children of OHM families participated on the Knowledge Workship conducted at the Chinmaya Mission Centre, 8832 The Gore Road, Brampton on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 2:00Pm to 5:00PM.  It was an afternoon filled with discourses, games, activities and Q & A session.  Kids had the privilege of interacting with Achara Dev, Acharya Gina and Acharya Sachin.


On the same afternoon, parents also had the opportunity to get blessings and attend discourse by Brahmasri Swami Guru Prasad ji, Secretary of Sivagiri Mutt in Canada. This was Swami ji's first visit to Canada and an honour to welcome Swami ji as representative of one of the foremost Mutts in Bharatam. 



OHM families are participating in the Vishu celebrations at the Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton (125 Father Tobin Road, Brampton).  This year Vishu falls on Friday, April 14. Receive Kaineetam from our respected Thirumeni and blessings from Lord Guruvayurappan on this auspicious day.


Monthly Evening Bhajans - 3rd Sunday of every month!

The monthly Bhajans by OHM kids and families take place in the evenings on the 3rd Sunday of every month at the Guruvayurappan Temple of Brampton.  Starting time: one hour before Deeparadhana which is at 7:00 pm during Spring/Summer and at 6:00 pm during Fall/Winter (Check the Temple website for exact times).


Can you believe that this is the 5th year since we started doing this!!


Youth/Children Hindu Camp

The Game of Life - An Introduction – 12th February 2017

OHM youth and kids participated in "The Game of Life - An Introduction", a Hindu Camp organized by KHNA and Chinmaya Mission at Chinmaya Shivalaya, 8832 The Gore Road, Brampton on 12th February 2017 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. It was an afternoon of learningand inspiration featuring activities, games, workshops and  a biopic. Camp was led by a team of trained young Canadian born/raised Acharyas of Chinmaya Mission.
